Seniors Outdoors! Club Recognition Fund

The SO! Club Recognition Fund is a discretionary fund used by the SO! Board to recognize significant volunteer contributions to the Club.

Nominee Qualification

To qualify for an award, nominees must have been SO! members for at least one year and have demonstrated a significant contribution, well above and beyond typical volunteer efforts, that has a positive and lasting impact to the Club.

Awards

Awards may be given to an individual only once in a calendar year and the value of any individual award may not exceed $50. The award may be a gift certificate, a meal, event tickets, food and beverage, flowers, book, or other form as deemed appropriate by the Board.

Nominations

Any SO! member can make a nomination by writing or e-mailing any Board member. The nomination should include:

Ø       The name of the nominee(s)

Ø       The reason for recognition – a description of how this individual or group’s efforts exceed expectations and result in a positive impact on the Club and its members

Ø       The recommended award in dollars and type (flowers, gift certificate, meal, book, plaque, etc.)

Ø       The method of distribution (when, where, and by whom). For example, a Club member could present an award at the annual picnic or a co-president could present it at a meeting.

The Board will vote to approve or disapprove each nomination.

Funding

The Club will budget $200 each year for these awards.
